UPCOMING CREST.BD EVENT
The Collaborative RESearch Team to study psychosocial issues in Bipolar
Disorder (CREST.BD) and its partners have embarked on a new study to explore
the impacts of a theatrical performance on mental health issues. The
research has been designed to focus on Victoria Maxwell's new stage play,
which is based on her lived experiences with bipolar disorder. "That's Just
Crazy Talk" is both written and performed by Victoria, who is an acclaimed
actress and mental health educator. The thoughtful and funny one woman play
is returning to Vancouver for its second run in the fall of 2011. People
living with bipolar disorder and healthcare providers are invited to partake
in the study, which is currently recruiting. Participation involves watching
the play and completing pre- and post-performance surveys, while a question
and answer period with the actress will follow the performance.
