Suicide Prevention Day

Deaths from suicide are on the rise across Canada. On average, one hundred Canadians commit suicde each day, and treatment services in BC do not always exist to properly deal with this issue.
During this event, a human chain will form from the Royal Jubilee Hospital to the Legislature. Letters and petitions from suicide survivors and those who care for them will pass down the chain and into the hands of legislators. Messages expressing the urgent need for proper treatment services for mental health patients.
The message of the rally and human chain on this day is that all British Columbians experiencing mental health challenges are not alone.
